Graham S. Fane, MBA, CMA, FCMA, FCPA

Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Graham joined Capilano University in 1979. During his 31 year teaching career he taught a variety of accounting subjects, Strategic Management, and Business Planning. Over the years, he also authored two textbooks, ‘Strategic Planning’ and ‘Contemporary Management’, used in undergraduate business courses across Canada.

In 2009, Graham was appointed Dean of the faculty of Business and Professional Studies which included the schools of Business, Law, Communications, and Public Administration. Graham served as Dean until his retirement in June of 2014. During his term, he travelled extensively throughout Europe, China and Russia, developing international opportunities for students and managing international contracts. He was also the lead in developing curriculum for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. The curriculum was embraced by the London 2012 and the Sochi 2014 games. Graham was appointed to the panel of experts for the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU).

In addition to his academic career, Graham has maintained a part-time consulting practice in Strategic Management and executive training sin

ce 1989. He has offered his ‘Total Impact™’ business case workshop to over 9,000 managers in public and private organizations across Canada, the United States, and in Columbia, South America. He has facilitated senior management retreats for a large number of organizations on the subject of developing and improving strategic plans in organizations. Graham has been a speaker at a variety of conferences, talking about sustainability, strategic planning and developing business cases to enhance management decision making.

Graham is a member of the Certified Management Accountants of British Columbia, and served eight years as a member of the Board of Directors of the CMABC. Graham is a fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada.
